BG police respond to hospital for domestic violence victim; then called to ICU for suspect

While responding to the hospital for a reported domestic violence victim, police were called to assist with a “menacing” patient in the ICU – who turned out to be the suspect in the domestic violence case.

Bowling Green Police responded to Wood County Hospital late Monday (Aug. 5) evening for a reported case of domestic violence.

Police spoke with the woman, who said her ex-boyfriend, Dustin Rohrs, 47, of BG, came to her apartment on Ninth Street, and began hitting her. Police noted she had a large purple and green bruise on her bicep, a cut on her right shoulder, and a bruise on her face.

An officer gave the patient a victim rights pamphlet along with a power of information pamphlet and incident card. Photos were taken of her injuries, and an officer filled out an Ohio victims` rights request form with her.

While still at the hospital, police were called to the ICU for a patient who was reportedly extremely intoxicated, and was restrained in the hospital bed due to his aggression levels.

The patient, Rohrs, reportedly spit on an officer and hospital staff, made sexually explicit comments to staff, and attempted to grab a nurse. He was charged with menacing and disorderly conduct. Once released by the hospital, Rohrs was transported to Wood County Jail.
