The Bowling Green Post Office was temporarily closed today after a vehicle crashed into the facility at 111 W. Washington St.

As of this evening, the caution tape had been removed and a temporary door had been installed. A sign explains there will be access to the post office boxes and the retail counter on Saturday.

Around 11 a.m., Friday, an 83-year-old driver crashed through the front doors into the lobby of the post office. There were no injuries, though the driver was taken to Wood County Hospital to be checked out.

The crash caused significant damage to the structure of the building.

Customers may access retail services at other locations found on USPS.com, under “Quick Tools” then “Find USPS locations”- https://tools.usps.com/find-location.htm.

The Postal Services apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused, however, the safety of employees and customers is a top priority.
