In anticipation of snow accumulation well in excess of two inches, residents are asked to refrain from parking on streets this weekend – Jan. 18-20.
A snow emergency being declared in the City of Bowling Green is imminent for Saturday, Jan. 19, based on current storm forecasts. Keeping streets free and clear of parked vehicles is a tremendous help in the snow removal process, allowing the entire street to be cleared and treated.
If two inches of snow is received, a snow emergency may be declared, implementing parking restrictions. As a reminder, if a snow emergency is declared between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., vehicles must be removed from snow streets within two hours of the declaration. If a snow emergency is declared after 9 p.m., vehicles must be removed by 9 the following morning.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the city’s website, local news, or follow the city on social media such as Facebook (@cityofbg) and Twitter (@cityofbg).
