Varsity girls bowling heading to state meet

BGHS Varsity Girls Bowling Team punced their ticket to states by finishing as S as district runners up Tuesday, Feb. 25 in Port Clinton.
Coach Armando Calderon said the bowlers showed grit as they rallied from third with 11 pins down after the three team games to take second after the six-game Baker format. They gained their 62 pins lead in the fifth and sixth games topping third place Van Wert. Celina came out in first with 3869 pins to BG’s 3394.
Calderon, who has coached the team for five yrears, said: “I am in loss of words. This group of girls have set goals for themselves and achieve them all. I love the fact as a coach, but as also a parent (of a bowler) who is a freshman on this team (and) is able to follow the footsteps of her older sisters, who both accomplished a lot in their BG Bowling High School career. She is part of building this program back to championship caliber along with all her teammates.”
Varsity girls bowling advances to districts
BGHS Varsity Girls Bowling Team placed third sectional competition Friday (2-20) to advance to the district meet on Tuesday Feb. 24 at Star Lanes at the Harbor in Port Clinton.
The team scored 751, 770, 830, for a total of 2351.
Individual results were:
- 4th place Isabella Calderon 210, 123, 216, total 549
- 6th place Isabelle Grames 187, 193, 148 total 528
- 17th Addison Nickey 128, 141, 195 total 464
- 28th Zoe Brujic 98, 163, 150 total 411

Bobcat swimmers compete in district meet
Members of the BGHS swim team hav e qualified to compete in the district swim meet this weekend.
The D2 Boys will compete on today (Feb. 20) with events beginning at 4:30 p.m.
- Mikey Stanford will swim the 50 and 100 freestyle.
- Stone Chamberlin will compete in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.
- Aidan Jacks will swim the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.
- Jackson Fallis will compete in the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
- Collin Mahan will swim the 500 freestyle.
BGHS boys will also compete in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay.
Elmwood will be represented by Brayden Miller in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Lakota’s Benett Ebert will swim the 50 and 100 freestyle, and Landen Graber will compete in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
The D1 Girls will compete on Saturday morning, Feb.21, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
- Mia Buff will swim the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.
- Bea Blair will compete in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
- Maura Desmond will swim the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
- Alayna Mahan will compete in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
- Melanie Long will swim the 200 and 500 freestyle events.
The Bobcat girls team will also compete in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay.

Bobcat girls basketball grabs Senior Night win
BGHS girls basketball team picked up a home victory, defeating Springfield 53–19 on Senior Night, Thursday, Feb. 5.
Molly Shafer led the Bobcats with 21 points, while Kate Howick added 11.
Ella Jordan had 9 points for Springfield.
With the win, BG improves to 6–13 overall and 4–5 in league.

BG girls come in 4th & boys 10th in NWOAC Championships
Bowling Green High School girls swim team placed fourth in the NWOAC Championships Saturday (Jan. 31).
The Bobcats scored 251 points. Napoleon won with 396 points
The BGHS boys placed 10th with 122 points. Bryan High School won the boys event with 385 points.
Led by Mia Buff who placed first in four team and solo events, the Bobcat girls won first in several events:

Bobcat swim teams defeat Wauseon
The BGHS boys and girls swim teams each earn wins in a dual meet with Wauseon.
The Bobcat girls won 69-30. The boys squad topped Wauseon, 55-24.

Bobcat boys & girls bowling teams each pick up wins in Perrysburg
BG Bowling picked up a win against Perrysburg on Jan. 13 2026.
The boys team won 2449-2434, led by Porter Dimmick with games of 202 and 222 for a 424 series. Andrew Kee Jr. rolled a 230, Conner Main added a 213, and Casper Burns had a 210.
The girls team won 2089-1488. Isabelle Grames led the way with games of 188 and 186 for a 374 series. Magdelin Landry bowled a 198, and Isabella Calderon finished with a 174.

Bobcat girls basketball downs Clay in home game
The Bowling Green girls basketball team defeated Clay at home, 57–21., Thursday (1-15-2026).
Maddie Gillispie led the scoring with 17 points, while Molly Shafer and Kate Scarletto-Scholl each added 12 points.
For Clay, C. McGilvray led with 14 points. With the win, BG improves to 4–9 overall.

Bobcats bowling has split decision against Maumee
On Jan. 9, The Bowling Green Bowling team faced Maumee. The BG boys team lost with a score of 2355 to Maumee’s 2658. The BGHS girls team earned a win, scoring 2007 while Maumee finished with 1707, and remains undefeated.
Leading individual scores for the BG boys were Conner Main with 254 and Lukas Wesley with 233.
Top performers for the BGHS girls were Isabelle Grames with 181, Magdelin Landry with 175, and Addison Nickey with 174.

Bobcat girls swim team 2nd in Cardinal Division; boys team places 4th
The Bowling Green High School boys and girls swim teams competed Saturday (1/10/26) in the 2026 NLL Championships at the Student Recreation Center at Bowling Green State University. BGHS is in the Cardinal Division.
Girls are Cardinal Division runner-up
The girls placed second with a score of 259 in the Cardinal Division behind Napoleon with a score of 337.
Mia Buff helped set the pace with an NLL record setting 56.29 swim in the Girls 100 Yard Backstroke.

Boys place 4th
The Bobcat boys team placed fourth in the Cardinal Fremont Ross won the Cardinal Division meet.

Bobcat bowling teams continue their winning ways
The BGHS varsity bowling teams continued their winning season with wins over Old Fort on Jan. 6 and Springfield on Ja. 8.
On Ja. 6 against Old Fort, the BG boys earned a 2547-2202 victory. Conner Main led the team with games of 223 and 263, while Casper Burns had a 245. Porter Dimmick added a 214, and Andrew Kee Jr. finished with a 211.
The BG girls also picked up a win, defeating Old Fort 2127-1483. Zoe Brujic led the way with a 199, and Maggie Landry followed with a 180.
On Jan. 8 against Springfield, the varsity boys won again with a score of 2427-1960. Conner Main had a high game of 220, and Casper Burns added a 211. The varsity girls continued their undefeated season with a 2013-1628 win over Springfield. Isabelle Grames led the team with a 199, while Addison Nickey contributed a 175.
With the two victories, the BG boys improved to 8-2 overall, including a 3-1 conference record and a 5-1 mark in non-conference play.
The BG girls remain undefeated at 10-0 overall, 4-0 in conference, and 6-0 in non-conference competition.

BG girls hoops loses home game to Fremont Ross
Bowing Green girls basketball team dropped a home match Thursday (1-8-25) to Fremont Ross 23-59.
Kate Scarletto-Scholl accounted for 8 of the Bobcats’ points.
Bobcats girls basketball steam rolls Cardinal Stritch
Bowling Green girls basketball had a strong 67–22 home win over Cardinal Stritch on Dec. 30.
The Bobcats blew open the game with 23 points in the first quarter.
Maddie Gillispie led Bowling Green with 22 points and Kate Scarletto-Scholl added 18 points. Cardinal Stritch was led by A. Hill, who scored 16 points.

The Bowling Green Swim Club traveled to Ayersville for a multiple team meet.
The BG Gators competed against the home club and Defiance, and won 17 of the 24 events

Bowling Green played Liberty Center at home Saturday, Dec. 13, but fell 45-33.
Maddie Gillispie led the Bobcats with 13 points. Lily Wagner added 7 points.
Liberty Center was led by A. Fausnight with 16 points, and H. Atkinson contributed 7 points.

The BGHS Wrestling Team placed 9th out of 22 teams at Coldwater.

The Bowling Green girls basketball team faced Napoleon Friday, Dec. 12 and fell by a final score of 52-19.
Maddie Gillispie led the Bobcats with 9 points, while Kate Scarletto-Scholl followed with 8 points.
For Napoleon, T. Ressler finished with 18 points. A. Good added 13 points, securing the victory for Napoleon.

Bobcats bowl over Whitmer
On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the BGHS varsity bowling teams delivered strong performances at Whitmer Bowlero Lanes in Toledo. The BGHS boys team put together an impressive total score of 2340, defeating Whitmer’s 1854.
Conner Main led the way with an outstanding 278 game and a 458 two-game match. Andrew Kee Jr. added 217, while Porter Dimick contributed 200, helping secure the win.
The BGHS girls team also came out on top, finishing with a 2089 to Whitmer’s 1604. Isabelle Grames led the team with a score of 205, and Magdelin Landry had scores of 160 and 166.

The BG girls basketball team lost at home Tuesday (Dec. 9) as Sylvania Northview led wire to wire. Final score was 61-16.

Bobcat girls bowlers defeat Maumee; boys take a loss
Bobcat bowling came away with a split decision Monday (Dec. 8) against Maumee.
The girls squad pulled out a Varsity Girls Bowling Scores 2036-1602 win.

BG girls drop tight home game to Southview
After leading through the first three quarters, Bowling Green could not match Sylvania Southview’s 18-point fourth quarter, Friday (Dec. 5). The Bobcats lost the home game 47-44, dropping to 1-4 overall, and 1-1 in league play.
Leading scorers for BG were: Maddie Gillispie 15, and Kate Scarletto-Scholl and Molly Shafer, each with 6.
BG boys & girls bowlers defeat Anthony Wayne
BGHS boys and girls bowling teams scored wins Tuesday (12-2-25) over Anthony Wayne.
The boys won 2494-2447 over the Generals.

Bobcats girls hoops opens season with a loss
The BGHS girls basketball team dropped its opening game, 50-11 to Findlay Friday (11-21).
Kate Scarletto-Scholl was the Bobcats’ leading scorer with 4 points.
