BG teenager arrested for rape of another minor at party

A Bowling Green High School student has been charged in the rape of another student at a party.

Ryan Rife, 17, was arrested for rape and an underage alcohol violation on Jan. 11. He is being held in the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.

The alleged rape was reported to Bowling Green Police Division after a Nov. 1, 2019, party at the home of a student in the 100 block of West Reed Avenue.

According to police, multiple BGHS students attended the party, where alcohol and marijuana was made available by an adult. After the party, the allegation of a sexual assault was reported.

Police interviewed those who attended the party, and used search warrants to view multiple Snapchat accounts that included videos, photos and chats. Based on that evidence, the charge of rape was filed against Rife, police said.

Additional charges against other teenagers are pending in juvenile court.

One adult, Summer Woodman, has been charged with six counts of providing a place for underage consumption.
