BG theft suspects reportedly parked in handicapped spot – then used bank card to get breakfast and shop

Two women suspected of breaking into vehicles at an apartment complex were arrested by Bowling Green police officers on Wednesday.

A resident of the complex in the 700 block of East Napoleon Road called police around 6 a.m. Wednesday after he noticed a vehicle parked in a handicapped spot with its headlights on. He reported that he saw two women going through unlocked vehicles in the lot, according to BG Police Major Justin White.

When police arrived, the suspects were gone, but the witness had been able to get the license plate number of their car in the handicapped spot.

At 7:17 a.m., police officers found the suspects as they were leaving the WalMart parking lot on South Main Street. Officers reportedly found the bank credit card that had been taken from a vehicle in the apartment complex lot.

The suspects had reportedly used the card to buy breakfast at McDonald’s and shop at WalMart, White said.

The two women, Anna Kinzel, 18, and Janeava Floyd, 22, both of Bowling Green, were charged with theft and misuse of a credit card.
