GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green will hold its next monthly meeting on Oct. 2 at First Christian Church at the corner of Poe Road and Haskins Road beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program for the evening will highlight the Falcon Food Pantry, presented by Shannon Orr, Ph.D., director of Falcon Food & Resource Community, BGSU.

Music for the evening will be presented by students of BGSU College of Musical Arts.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the signature project of national GFWC clubs. Members are encouraged to wear purple in support and bring “spare change” for a collection to help residents of The Cocoon. Attendees will have the chance to write a note of encouragement to a Cocoon resident.

A brief business meeting will follow to update and plan ongoing club projects that continue through the autumn months. Highlighted will be art and culture, the Linus Project, the fall drive-thru event, and an update on the annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show scheduled for Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at First United Methodist Church.

The designated charity for the evening is the Falcon Food Pantry, with the club making a donation of $200 to the organization on behalf of members.
