Original music written by BGSU composition students specifically for the Wood County Library will be performed Friday, March 28 at 4 p.m. in the library’s atrium.

The students were asked to compose music based on one of two prompts: What does a library mean to you? What does a library have to offer?

Their work will be performed by BGSU music students. Participating students are from four states — Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Texas — as well as India and Taiwan.

On the program will be:

  • Lukas Bass, “1 Joy Rd.” For oboe, bassoon, and piano.
  • Szu-An Chen, “Daydream,” for solo flute.
  • Dominick Gomez, “Fostering a Curious Mind” for violin and cello.
  • Meredith Gulla, “Life Twice” for solo piano.
  • Jonathan Kroeger, “A Curious Calm” for clarinet and piano.
  • Eleanor Margraf, “Just a little white with the dust” for solo bassoon.
  • Cruz Stock, “That’s My Library Card!” for two euphoniums.

The concert is part of the library’s ongoing celebration of the 150th anniversary of the library’s founding.
