The National Society of Leadership and Success and the National Senior Honor Society Mortar Board at Bowling Green State University are partnering to organize a toy drive to help brighten the holidays for kids I need in the Bowling Green community. The drive continues through Monday, Nov. 21.

“This is the first toy drive that we are holding,” said Kalli Gregory, student advisor of NSLS and student president of Mortar Board. “We hope that it can become an annual thing. The purpose of the toy drive is to give back to our community. All of the toys that are collected will be donated to the Bowling Green Fire Department. They will then distribute them to children in our community that are in need. All toys for all ages and genders are accepted. The toys can also be new or gently used.”

To donate, BGSU students can drop off toys in all residence halls and at Hayes Hall Room 301. Bowling Green community members can drop off toys at Hayes Hall or set up a time to meet with Mason Lewis, the toy drive coordinator, to drop off toys. Lewis can be reached at (lewisma@bgsu.edu).

For more information on the toy drive, contact Lewis, Gregory (gregork@bgsu.edu) or Brittany Krisanda, advisor of NSLS, (bkrisan@bgsu.edu).

NSLS and the Mortar Board encourage those who donate to post to social media. They can snap a picture of themselves and tag the NSLS (@nslsbgsu) or Mortar Board (@bgsumortarboard) on Instagram to be recognized on their pages for their service.

“It is so important to give back, especially during the holiday season,” Gregory said. “Helping children have the best holiday possible will also help you. Giving back makes you feel really good inside ,and the smiles on children’s faces are priceless. So many people are struggling right now so it is even more important to give back during the holiday season.”
