Camille Harris

Camille Harris, 97, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 25, 1929, to the late Ernest and Mina (Camden) Watkins.

Camille married the love of her life, Robert Harris, on October 4, 1947. Together, they shared more than 50 years of marriage until his passing in October 2020. Camille devoted much of her life to caring for her husband and daughter, creating a warm and loving home where family always came first.

Camille had a generous heart and believed in giving back to her community. She volunteered her time at Wood County Hospital and was a proud member of the Women of Bowling Green Club, where she had been a member since 1962. She also served as a hostess for the Welcome Wagon in Bowling Green, warmly welcoming new community members and businesses to the area. Camille also worked at BGSU as a secretary in administration before retiring with her beloved Rob to devote more me to her family. Through these many years of service, Camille touched the lives of countless people with her kindness, graciousness, and welcoming spirit.

Camille and Robert shared a love of adventure and enjoyed traveling together, especially visiting flea markets throughout the states. She cherished the memories they made along the way and carried those memories with her throughout her life. Camille had a special fondness for cats and elephants, two of the many simple joys that brought a smile to her face.

Above all else, Camille treasured her family and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Her greatest joy was cheering on her beloved OSU buckeyes (she seldom missed a game) and spending me with those she loved, and she will be remembered for the love, warmth, and devotion she gave so freely to them.

Though she will be deeply missed, Camille’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort knowing that the love she shared throughout her 97 years will continue through the generations.

May she rest peacefully, reunited with her beloved Robert.

Camille is survived by her beloved daughter Melody (Morris) Wiemken, grandchildren Brent (Cyndi) Wiemken, Brooke (Eric) Snow, great-grandchildren Sammi (Shane), Cooper, Casey, Grant (Kelsey), Ashton, Kendyl, Chris, and her great-great grandchildren Allison, Max, Wynter and Fallyn. Camille is also survived by her brother-in-law Howard Harris (Missouri) and sister-in-law Lucille Cramer (Texas).

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Georgia Forsythe, brother-in-law Herb Forsythe and her husband Robert.
