Meet Chief, the 2- to 3-year-old boxer mix that was brought in as a stray to the Wood County Dog Shelter. Chief was very nervous when he first came to the shelter, but has since really blossomed, according to Dog Warden Jodi Harding.
Chief is well trained. Someone has taught him quite a few tricks, like how to sit, lay down, shake and speak.
“He has the cutest curly-Q tail and is a super happy boy,” Harding said.
Chief is 60 pounds and seems to do well with the other dogs at the shelter. It was reported that he was chasing cats when he was found, so shelter staff recommends a cat-free home for him.
The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.
