Chip, an adult pittie mix, waiting at Wood County Dog Shelter for home with couch buddy

Meet Chip, an 8-year-old pittie mix that came to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray. He was microchipped, but his owner never contacted the shelter back after being notified that Chip had been found.

“He is a complete sweetheart who loves to go for walks and will walk right next to you,” said Wood County Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding. “He can be a little picky about his dog friends, so should meet any dogs before going home.”

Chip has had his da2pp and Bordetella vaccines at the shelter and will receive a $75 vet voucher when he is adopted to get his rabies and hw test. He is neutered and microchipped. He loves to hang out in the office and chew on bones. He seems to be housebroken, and is over his puppy stage.

“He would make a fantastic family dog for someone who is looking for a couch buddy,” Harding said.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
