The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:

The county experienced a snow fall that is estimated to be around 1 inch.  This snow shower has created a number of accidents on the roadways today, please slow down and take your time.  Even if it takes you extra time to get where you are going, it will be less time than getting your car repaired.

After a slight warm up to near normal temperatures Friday and Saturday, Sunday the temperatures will begin to drop ahead of a cold front.  This cold front is expected to last into Wednesday morning.  Please note the National Weather Service has modified their weather products.  A Cold Weather Advisory is issued at -15F, slight lightly lower than previously advisories.

If you must be outside, make the appropriate precautions:

  • Dress in layers with loose fitting clothes to help insulate
  • For your car: keep your gas tank full, first aid kit, blanket, food, water, shovel, sand/cat litter for traction and cell phone charger
  • Limit exposure to the cold
  • Check on neighbors, especially those who may be at risk.
