Community bands swing into fall

From BOWLING GREEN AREA COMMUNITY BANDS

Join the Bowling Green Area Community Band and BiG Band BG, under the direction of Thomas R. Headley and William E. Lake, as they kick off their season on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 4 p.m., at the Bowling Green Schools Performing Arts Center, 530 West Poe Road with “Autumn Colors.”

The free concert will feature selections from Disney’s “The Lion King”; John Williams’s classic “Swing, Swing, Swing”; “The Toy Trumpet” from Shirley Temple’s 1938 movie “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm”; “Autumn Leaves”; “Early Autumn”; long-time Stan Kenton arranger Robert Curnow’s “September Swing” and much more.

Children are invited to wear a costume and come to the stage to assist with sound effects.

The “Toy Trumpet” will feature the trumpet section with special guest tap dancer Hudson Pendleton. Hudson is a 2019 Bowling Green High School graduate, attending BGSU majoring in aviation and is a member of the Air Force ROTC Program.

The PAC is fully accessible and has abundant parking.
