Community electronics recycling drive set for April 6

Electronics  Recycling Drive will be held Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in BGSU  Lot 10 (North side of Slater Family Ice Arena). The collection is drive-in, drive-out with no contact. Enter from Mercer Roadd, exit from Stadium Drive. 

The collection is free and open to the community.

This is a chance to recycle unwanted electronic devices and scrap items in an environmentally safe way with zero landfill waste. Includes certified destruction of hard drives and other data-bearing devices. 

What can be recycled? 

  • Anything with a cord or that’s battery operated: 
  • Desktop computers and laptops
  • Monitors and TVs (flatscreens/LCDs only) printers and other IT, office equipment, wires, cables, and cords
  • Light ballasts
  • Cellphones and telephones
  • Cameras nd AV equipment
  • Video games and VCR and DVD Players 
  • Household appliances
  • Electronic tools
  • Batteries of all kinds
  • Fans and more

No tube TVs or CRT screens are accepted. 

More than 50 million tons of electronic waste is produced every year in the U.S., with the majority ending up in landfills.
