From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN
Mosser Construction crews are mobilizing to begin construction on two new Bowling Green fire stations, located on Newton Road and on Campbell Hill Road, starting July 21. It is anticipated that the fire station on Newton Road, which is adjacent to the Bowling Green Community Center, will have minimal impacts on the facility and road and may include dust or temporary lane restrictions.
At the Campbell Hill fire station, located near the water tower in Carter Park, an updated traffic pattern will soon be implemented as a new entrance/exit to the area is built. Those visiting Carter Park should be prepared for an updated traffic pattern.
What to know:
- During this construction, access will be maintained through the current entrance, with traffic routed around the work zone.
- The existing exit will be closed beginning July 21.
- Traffic flow will be redirected with arrows. Guests will enter on Campbell Hill Road and exit from the north park exit.
- One-way traffic will be maintained from the entrance through the park.
- This is expected to be completed mid-August, weather permitting. Upon completion, the current entrance will be permanently removed. The new park entry will be south of the water tower.
Disc golfers can expect some impacts to the current course at Carter Park. Holes 4 and 5 are being removed and Hole 3 has been adjusted for construction. A temporary layout will be made available during the construction period. The updated course map will be found on the city’s website once finalized.
An official groundbreaking ceremony for the buildings will be held in August. The city will share a finalized date for the occasion in the near future. For more updates, visit city of Bowling Green’s website.
