New to the Bowling Green business community, Fremont Federal Credit Union is making its mark on a local tradition.
At the ribbon cutting for the credit union at 1200 N. Main St. Nicholas Cray, FFCU’s president and chief executive officer, announced that financial services business will sponsor the newly minted I-75 Rivalry Series.
While the rivalry between the Bowling Green Falcons and the Toledo Rockets is mostly associated with the annual football game, the two schools compete against each other in about a dozen sports. The new I-75 rivalry series will assign points to each of those contests, and at the end of the year tally them up and honor the university with the winningest record.

Coaches and mascots were on hand for the Monday morning (5-5-2025) for the ribbon cutting and announcement of the series.
Cray said that the credit union has ties with both schools. His daughter is a BGSU student and performs in the Falcon Marching Band. FFCU’s chief lending officer Bill Nicholson is the grandson of legendary Toledo football coach Jim Nicholson.

The Bowling Green office is the seventh office opened by the credit union, and the furthest from its home base.
The credit union serves residents of Wood, Lucas, Hancock, Seneca, Ottawa and Sandusky counties.
The attraction of Bowling Green is that has “a strong economic base” and is a population center in Northwest Ohio, including more than 18,000 BGSU students, Cray said.
He noted that as a credit union without outside investors all t its profits are plowed back into the company to benefit members.
