On July 18, at 7:07 a.m., the Wood County Sheriff’s office investigated a single vehicle crash in the area of 5215 Rock Ridge Road, Bloom Township near Cygnet.
A silver 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was traveling northbound when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a concrete culvert, causing the vehicle to go airborne, striking a utility pole and overturning. The operator of the vehicle, Joshua A. Chovan, 18, Cygnet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assisting at the scene were Cygnet Fire, Bloomdale EMS, Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with Reinharts Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
