The theft of a dead deer was reported Friday (10/4) to Bowling Green Police Division.
Police were dispatched at 5:50 a.m., to a home in the 100 block of Ada Avenue for a report of a dead deer stolen from the back of a pickup truck during the night.
The owner of the truck told police that he claimed the deer, which was killed in a car crash the night before in the county. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office had reportedly contacted him from a list of people wanting to pick up deceased deer. The sheriff’s office gave him a receipt for the deer, which he showed BG Police.
The man told police he last saw the deer around 11 p.m. Thursday when he wrapped it in a tarp in the back of the pickup.
