A Defend Democracy One Stitch at a Time event will be held at Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green on Friday, Feb. 28 3-5 p.m.
The group will join for knitting and discussion about plans that can be put in action to counter the Trump administration.
The focus will be on the Economic Blackout Day, a call for consumers not to buy anything on Feb. 28, and if a purchase is necessary buy it from a small, locally owned. The idea is to disrupt the economy for one day.
The BG knitters will be creating “pussy hats” that “we will be proud to wear.”
The “pussy hat” was a symbol of the Women’s March in January, 2017.
