I write in support of the reelection of Judge Joel Kuhlman to the Wood County Court of Common Pleas.
I have practiced law for nearly a decade. My legal career began working side by side with judges at the Sixth District Court of Appeals. I later opened a solo practice, which has since grown through the addition of my partner, Anthony Glase. From our office in Perrysburg, I have represented clients throughout Ohio in civil, criminal, appellate, and administrative proceedings.
That work has allowed me to appear before courts and work with court personnel in large cities, including Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati, as well as smaller communities, such as Steubenville, Sandusky, Norwalk, and Springboro, among many more. These experiences have exposed me to many different court environments and approaches to public service.
Through my interactions with Judge Kuhlman and his staff, I have consistently found them to be respectful, professional, and attentive to both attorneys and the people they serve. My clients have likewise been treated with dignity and respect.
As a defense attorney, I have not always agreed with every sentence imposed by Judge Kuhlman. Advocates should be candid about those differences. But disagreement with an outcome does not diminish my respect for the fairness and professionalism with which Judge Kuhlman carries out his responsibilities. In my experience, he treats the matters before him seriously, gives parties and counsel and opportunity to be heard, and conducts his courtroom with the respect the public deserves.
Wood County voters should return Judge Joel Kuhlman to the Court of Common Pleas.
