Democratic congressional candidate spells out his economic agenda

From Rubando for Congress

Nick Rubando, candidate for U.S. Congress, introduced his Congressional economic agenda. Rubando’s plan, the Economic Recovery of America (ERA), would create a National Infrastructure Bank modeled after similar banks under Washington and Roosevelt. Rubando’s plan would create 25 million new, green, unionized, debt-neutral jobs.

The popularity of such legislation has increased dramatically in response to mass unemployment and the need for renewed economic stimulus. Congress is currently debating similar legislation, the National Infrastructure Bank Act of 2020 (H.R. 6422).  The Ohio State Legislature is debating state-wide support for a National Infrastructure Bank through H.R. 348. The Democratic Party has additionally expressed a need for nationalized infrastructure spending in the 2020 Democratic Platform.

Rubando says “Our ERA” would be unique in its focus on green infrastructure and universal broadband access. Additionally, he hopes to propose the ERA legislation on the Congressional floor as a bill rather than a piece of legislation so that the policy can have actionable steps and the necessary financial structuring.

Rubando commented, “We have lost 180,000 Americans to coronavirus and over a million Ohioans are unemployed. We need a bold solution that will measure up to this moment.” He further shared, “When this pandemic is over, we will need to get back to work and back on track. We can’t elect leaders who will hinder us at every turn.”
