Meet Duke. He is a 25 pound mixed breed that came into the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray. He’s a little shy at first, but super sweet once he warms up, according to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.
Duke does well with the other dogs at the shelter but it’s unknown how he is with cats. He walks well on a leash, is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his vaccines.
The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays.
