Luckey Mayor Cory Panning wants to see the Easter spirit alive in light of social distancing and many families needing to find new ways to celebrate the holiday.
“While the Grinch might try and steal Christmas, COVID-19 isn’t going to steal Easter,” he stated in a press release.
To celebrate, Saturday (April 11) starting at 11 a.m., Panning will dress up as the Easter Bunny, climb onto one of the Troy-Township Fire trucks, and with an escort by the Village of Luckey police department, drive down every residential street within the village. This way residents can watch from the comfort of their own homes.
He said the idea was inspired by activities in a number of other communities.
“We hope this simple gesture might bring some joy to families during this unfamiliar time we are facing,” he concluded.
