Edith Irene Laborie

Edith Irene (Ringler) Laborie passed away March 22, 2026. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. A dedicated Christian, she blessed others with her gift of hospitality.

Edith was known for her kind and loving spirit, her caring and generous heart and her homemade cookies.

Born February 5, 1939, to Vale and E. Louise Ringler, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Charles Laborie, on December 28, 1957.

She is survived by Ronald, her loving husband of 68 years, and children: Lou Anne Warren, Findlay, OH, Gene (Linda) Laborie, Bloomdale, OH, Joan Millilken, Mooresville, NC, Douglas (Sandra) Laborie, Portage, OH, and Amy (Larry) Smith, Bowling Green, OH.

Edith was the loving grandmother of 13: Melanie (Keith) Russell, Eric (Whitney) Warren, Chad (Shannon) Warren, Matt (Tammi) Nye, Dalton Laborie, Brad (Marissa) Milliken, Kelly Milliken, John Robert “J.R.” (Erin) Laborie, Sarah (Ian) Zoller, Samantha Laborie, Joseph Laborie, Cody (Kayle) Smith and Austin Smith. She also adored her 12 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way: Morgan, Blake, and Ryan Russell; Bennett Warren; Carter and Cole Warren; Leah Milliken; Alexandra, Evalynn and Grady Laborie; Walter and Harvey Zoller.

Edith is also survived by her sister, Ardith Karse, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the unexpected losses of sons-in-law Craig Milliken and Jim Warren.

Edith lived with Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years. She and Ron moved to Briar Hill in 2020. The family would like to thank the staff for their tender care. Edith was a member of New Hope Christian Church near Wayne and was an avid BGSU women’s basketball fan.

Edith was a quiet lady who touched the lives of many people who affectionately called her “Grandma”.

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4-8 pm at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 27, 2026, with Pastor Ron Merritt officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Huntington Township Cemetery near United Church of Huntington 26677 OH-58, Wellington, Ohio 44090.
