Elizabeth Ann Titus (Bachman) of Bowling Green, Ohio departed from this world on Monday November 28, 2022 at the age of 92 in the care of Hospice. She was born March 3, 1930 to Alva and Frances Bachman in Bowling Green, Ohio. Ann passed peacefully from this town she called home for 92 years to join her husband, Donald F. Titus, in heavenly glory.
Ann graduated from Bowling Green High School and went on to attend Oberlin College where she studied Health and Physical Education. Upon graduation, Ann began her career in teaching at Shelby High School. She moved on to Bowling Green Schools and eventually joined the staff at Otsego High School where she taught Health and Physical Education (“Hell be to the person that called it Gym”). Ann had a wonderfully enriching and successful career teaching and coaching at Otsego High School for close to 30 years. Ann was intimately involved with the founding and development of Girl’s High School Athletics in Northwest Ohio coaching high school girls’ volleyball, basketball and track. Ann was instrumental in the organization and development of the Girls Athletic Association (GAA) at Otsego and eventually the formation of girl’s athletics at the junior and senior high school levels. She was a trailblazer before her time and was recognized for her commitment in 2018 when she was inducted into the Otsego High School Hall of Fame; a recognition she took much pride in.
Ann met Don Titus in kindergarten, married him in 1952 and ended up spending 70+ years with the love of her life prior to his passing in June of 2020. They were a wonderful couple, spending their entire lives and professional years in Bowling Green, while spending part of their retirement in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. They raised three sons, John (Tabatha), of Bowling Green, Ohio, Robert (Nancy), of Greenville, South Carolina, and Greg (Tiffani) of Littleton, Colorado, along with 10 grandchildren. Ann and Don complemented each other in so many ways. So, it is with some sorrow but with greater joy for a life well lived, that we celebrate the life and passing of Elizabeth Ann Titus. She was a wonderfully kind and generous woman who will be remembered for her devotion and loving manner. We love you, Mom.
