Festival to celebrate Northwest Ohio wines

V.I.N.O. (Vintners in Northwest Ohio) Wine Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 8,  at the Wood County Fairgrounds, from 1-7 p.m.
A celebration of wine and food in Northwest Ohio celebrating fine wine, great food, and offering shopping, music, and fun. 

The festival expects more than 1000 attendees for this first time during the fall ‘Crush’ season. 

As many as 20 wineries are expected to be pouring reds, whites, blushes, fruit, and dessert wines.  They will be offering European-style viniferas, Ohio-grown natives, and French-American hybrid wines to suit every palate. 

Food options provided by Kabob It: 
Chicken Kabob Meal $10-chicken kabob served over rice with salad, hommous, and pita bread 
Falafel Meal $10-Falafel served over rice with salad, hommous, and pita bread
Hommous and Pita $5-A delicious spread made of chickpeas, tahini sauce, and lemon juice. Enjoy with pita bread
Fattoush Salad $5-A mix of fresh vegetables and pita chips, topped with our signature lemon juice and olive oil
Cheese Skewer $3-A fresh snack to hold you over, cheese cubes on a skewer.
Baklava $2-A layered pastry dessert made of filo dough, chopped nuts, and a sweetened syrup

Vendors will be offering a wide range of goods. 

Live entertainment will be on hand all day. 

There will be wine education sessions to help novices understand the wines and even for the ‘connoisseur class’ of tasters to learn a bit too. 

Ticket prices are: general admission $40 in advance and $45 at the gate. VIP admission [VIP tickets limited to the first 300 who register] $50 in advance only  VIP tickets include a special name tag, an extra tasting of one limited production, award-winning wine at each participating winery, a wine and food pairing wheel plus gift coupons to visit wineries following the festival.
