Five locations in BG report suspicious booms in the night

Bowling Green Police Division received at least five calls Monday night from residents hearing suspicious boom noises – likely caused by fireworks, according to Lt. Dan Mancuso.

The first call came in at 11:19 p.m. from a resident in the 700 block of Conneaut Avenue.

Thirty seconds later, another call came in from the 300 block of Ridge Street, followed by the next one two minutes later in the 300 block of Leroy Avenue.

The fourth call came from a resident in the 300 block of North Summit Street.

The final call was received at 12:18 a.m. from a resident of the 500 block of Frazee Avenue. The officer responding reported a burnt smell in the air at that location.
