Gisela Cain passed away peacefully in Swanton, OH August 18, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born Gisela Hilda Seeger in Mannheim-Rheinau Germany November 26, 1940 to Bruno August Gustav Seeger and Hilda (Neuberger) Seeger. She attended High School and Business College in Mannheim graduating in 1960.
Gisela married Thomas Earl Cain in Mannheim on September 16, 1963. After Tom’s discharge from the military, they settled in Swanton, raised a family and celebrated 53 years of devotion.
In addition to raising her family and her career in Mannheim, Gisela worked at Pilliod Cabinet Company from 1987-1995 in Accounts Receivable.
Gisela tackled life with passion. She biked the Swiss Alps and hiked a coffee plantation in El Salvador in her last decade of life. She regularly travelled to Germany to spend time with family and lifelong friends. Gisela enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends and family. Her bright and fun-loving energy will be missed by many. If she wasn’t socializing, Gisela could be found enjoying her immaculate backyard as she picked up leaves, tended her flowers or sat and enjoyed the view. Gisela was well loved. She had a close circle of friends and family who were there at the end.
Gisela was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother (Gunter Seeger) and sister (Hilegard McHenry). She is survived by her children Mike (Jen Drain) Cain, and Michelle (Joseph Steinem) Miller, formerly of Bowling Green, grandchildren, Chantel Moody, Ren (Tina) Cain and great granddaughter, Evie Cain and sisters Margot Twardowski and Hannelore Biffar. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were also an important part of her life.
