Hank loves toys, people, other dogs, and is waiting at Wood County Dog Shelter for home

Meet Hank, a 10-month-old mixed breed that was originally found as a stray over the summer when he was just a baby. He was adopted from the Wood County Dog Shelter and did fantastic with the kids in the family, according to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.

But unfortunately the family’s circumstances changed and they found themselves working a lot more than they were previously. Due to this, Hank started to show signs of separation anxiety and the family thought it would be best to bring him back to the shelter to find a home more suited for his needs.

He was trained to ring bells at the door to go outside, and has never met a stranger, Harding said. He absolutely loves toys, and will often pick one out on his way to the door for his daily walks.  He loves other dogs, and is fully vetted.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
