Hobby Lobby, the giant arts-crafts and home decor store, is leaving Bowling Green.
The store, currently located at 1080 S. Main St., is being relocated to Holland, Ohio. The grand opening of the new location will be Feb. 5, according to a representative at the company’s corporate offices in Oklahoma.
The company would not say how many people are employed at the Bowling Green store, but did say that it was likely the employees would be offered a chance to work at the new Holland location. The representative did not know the exact closing day for the BG store.
“It’s unfortunate that they are leaving,” Assistant Municipal Administrator Joe Fawcett said. “Certainly anytime a business leaves Bowling Green, we’re not happy. But we wish them well.”
“We’re glad it appears the employees can keep their jobs,” Fawcett said.
Hobby Lobby specializes in arts and crafts, but also sells items such as holiday decorations, fabrics, picture frames, scrapbooking supplies and artificial flowers.
