One in eight women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Wood County Hospital would like to reduce those odds for the women of Wood County through education, prevention, and early detection.
The hospital is hosting its first Ladies’ Night Out: Wine, Cheese & Chests, on Oct. 19 from 5:30-7 p.m. The event is designed to be a free and fun event that will educate women on detecting and preventing breast cancer and will highlight many important aspects of women’s health.
The program includes radiologist, Dr. Carter Genson, who will speak briefly about standard mammogram exams and 3D mammography. Wood County Hospital surgeons will be in attendance to answer questions and share information about testing procedures offered at Wood County Hospital. The event will offer free wine, appetizers, music, games, mini manicures and chair massages. There will be tables and games, important takeaways, information and facts on trending women’s health topics and instruction on how to conduct a proper self-breast exam.
Each attendee will have a chance to be entered to win a $100 spa gift card and the first 50 to register will receive a pampering swag bag full of goodies. The event will be in the Wood County Hospital surgery waiting area. Registration is required and can be done by visiting woodcountyhospital.org/ladies-night-out or by calling (419)354-8986.
It’s the perfect event to gather your girlfriends, enjoy some fun, have a drink and learn more about women’s health, prevention, and treatment available at Wood County Hospital.
