The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a commercial tractor/trailer, today (March 13) at approximately 6:43 p.m., on Interstate 280, milepost 5, in Lake Township.
The preliminary investigation showed a 2023 Freightliner tractor/trailer, driven by Melvin Forman, 44, Michigan, was traveling southbound on I-280 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, striking the concrete dividing wall. The tractor portion of the vehicle became stuck on top of the concrete dividing wall, partially blocking the northbound lanes of I-280, while the trailer portion blocked the southbound lanes.
As of 8:45 p.m., as a result of the crash, I-280 remains closed in both directions while crews work on clearing the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries.
The OSHP is being assisted on scene by the Lake Township Police Department, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Pat and Son’s Towing.
