James B. Jividen 88, went to his eternal home Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green, OH. He was born April 20, 1930, in Pemberville, OH to Bert and Erma (McCoy) Jividen. On August 28, 1954 he married Grace Ruth Gerwin in the Pemberville United Methodist Church. James and Grace have raised five children and celebrated 64 years of marriage together. Early in his working career James was a fireman for the railroad. He would later work 25 years in the lime plant in Gibsonburgand later another 25 years in preventative maintenance for Martin Marietta in Woodville, before he retired. He was a lifelong member of Pemberville United Methodist Church. In addition, he enjoyed music, sports of all kinds, especially softball and dartball. Playing games was a big pastime within his family and because he was noted as being a family-man, it’s no surprise that family remained the center of his life.
In addition to his wife Grace, James is survived by children: Cindy (Steve) Hopkins of NM, James A. (Carol) Jividen of Woodville, Barbara Binion of Bowling Green, Thomas (Julie) Jividen of Gibsonburg, Robert (Machelle) Jividen of Gibsonburg, brother: Gary (Coleen) Jividen of PA, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Sharon White, Doris Bumpus, Jean Schlea, brothers: Hubert Jividen, Dale Jividen and infant brother Charles.
Family and Friends will be received 4-8 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105 in Pemberville. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2018 with an additional time of visitation for 10 a.m. until time of service at the Pemberville United Methodist Church, 205 Perry Street in Pemberville. Officiating, will be Pastor Ray Soleau. Interment will be in Eisenhour Cemetery, Pemberville.
