James Lein, 89, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away August 7, 2026. He was born March 4, 1937 in Portage, Ohio to the late Walter and Norma (Armstrong) Lein. He married Nancy DeSmith on June 18, 1960 and she preced him in death in 2014.
Jim was a 1955 graduate of Portage Township High School. He worked as a HVAC Specialist for BGSU. He was a member of Colverdale United Methodist Church, The American Legion in McComb and The Moose Lodge. Jim served his country in the United States Navy.
He was a talented woodworker, enjoyed spending time gardening and camping and was always ready to have a good time.
He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Albert) Huff, grandchildren Samantha Huff and Morgan Huff and great-granddaughter Paisley Abdo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Nancy and siblings Larry “Moon” Lein, Dick Lein and Mary Rawlins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday August 15, 2026 form 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cloverdale United Methodist Church, 8984 Kramer Rd. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. A Celebration of Life service will begin Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at the church. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Ohioans Hospice.
