Jordan Musgrave to run for first full term as BG City Council First Ward member

Jordan Musgrave

Bowling Green City Councilperson Jordan Musgrave has announced he is running for his first full term on city council.

Musgrave has lived in Bowling Green for nearly 15 years and is employed at Meijer in Bowling Green. He has been working there since 2013 and is currently serving as a grocery leader.

“While spending over a decade working retail and five years working in non profit, I’ve come to love being a public servant and making sure that I am doing my best to make sure that people’s voices are being heard in the community,” Musgrave said.

Musgrave was appointed to City Council’s First Ward seat on Sept. 18, 2024, and sworn in on Oct. 7. He is currently serving as the chair of the Parks, Recreation and Public Lands committee and a member of the Sustainability and Community Improvement committee for the city council.

In 2021, Musgrave was a founding member of BGOPride, a nonprofit in Bowling Green with a mission to bring visibility to the LGBT+ community. Musgrave assumed the role of president of the organization in 2023. BGOPride has hosted three Pride events in Bowling Green and plans to continue to do more for the community to raise awareness and protect the rights of LGBT+ people.

Musgrave said he is focused on creating a more sustainable and affordable city for all residents. “My vision for Bowling Green is that it stays a sustainable community while continuing to grow, with affordable housing, and a city that is a diverse and inclusive community for all.”

“I am very thankful for this experience and I am seeking to be elected to this seat to continue to serve the city to the best of my ability.”
