Joyce A Grimm

Joyce Amelia Grimm passed away peacefully in Gilbert, Arizona on March 23, 2023, at the age of 95.

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Grimm, her brother and sister-in-law, Edward & Shirley Moss, and her brother-in-law, Alan Grimm.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Janet (Jeff) Drab, and Denise (Gary) Ruch, and son John (Tammy) Grimm; by her seven (7) grandchildren and seven (7) great-grandchildren; by her sisters-in-law Dorothy (Dee) Grimm-Lawrence and Vicki Grimm.

Joyce was born in 1927 in Maumee, OH to Gladys and Edward Moss. She graduated from Maumee High School and attended Bowling Green State University. Joyce married Richard (Dick) Grimm in 1949, and they eventually raised their three (3) children in South Toledo. Starting in 1988, when Dick retired from his role as Finance Officer at Libbey Owens Ford, time was split between Whitehouse, OH and Mesa, AZ, and spent on her favorite activities, including golf, tennis, and playing the saxophone. Joyce’s golfing highlight was a hole-in-one at Heather Downs CC in Toledo in 1988. Her passion for music fueled memberships in the Maumee Community Band and the Silveridge Pop Orchestra in Mesa. Joyce was also a founding member of the Tower Point band in Mesa. Joyce was a loving wife and mother, whose kindness, goodwill, and generosity to family, friends, and those around her were widely known and recognized. Joyce was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Toledo.

Visitation will take place Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd., Waterville, OH. Funeral services will begin that morning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in Highland Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be sent to the Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, Arizona, in the name of Joyce A. Grimm.
