Karole S. McKinley, age 83, of Lemoyne, OH, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, OH. She was born on September 7, 1941, in Bowling Green, OH, to Allen “Dewey” and Luella (Nollenberger) Zimmerman. She was a 1959 graduate of Eastwood High School and went on to attend Bowling Green State University.
On March 30, 1962, she married Rodney A. McKinley at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge, OH. Karole and Rodney were blessed with two children, Sheila and Rodney Jr., and celebrated over 55 years of marriage before Rodney’s passing in 2017.
Karole worked for the United States Postal Service for 45 years and was the postmaster at the Lemoyne Post Office when she retired in 2014. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Karole enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found working in her yard and flower gardens. Prior to his passing, she enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband, Rodney, and was a member of Ringneck Ridge Hunt Club in Gibsonburg. She loved all sorts of animals, especially her dogs. However, her greatest joy remained the community she proudly served.
Karole is survived by her children: Sheila McKinley of Lombard, IL, and Rodney (Heather) McKinley Jr. of Marysville, OH; grandson, Danny Weiland Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kinley Weiland and Emery Weiland; and sister, Kay (Mike) Miesle of Bowling Green. In addition to her husband Rodney Sr., she was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn baby girl, granddaughter Megan Weiland, and sister Betty Crawford.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Marsh Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street, Luckey, OH, where a Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon. Services will be officiated by Pastor Leroy Sholey. Interment will follow at Troy Township Cemetery in Luckey.
