Kay Sterling Hopple, 71, of North Baltimore, died at 5:18 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at her residence. She was born on July 30, 1954, in Findlay to the late Preston Sterling and Anna (Jones) Trumbull. She married Cloyd “Fred” Hopple on October 16, 1971, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2014.
She is survived by her children: Charles “Dutch” Hopple of Findlay, Kevin (Elizabeth) Hopple of North Baltimore, and Shelly (Donald) LaRotonda of Lima; siblings: LaVenda Bauman of North Baltimore, Virginia Fornoff of North Baltimore, Kristina Snyder of North Baltimore, Clifford Sterling of Findlay, Troy (Lisa) Trumbull of North Baltimore, Jason (Heidi) Trumbull of Wayne and Robert Seibert of FL; and numerous grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Hopple; step-father, Roger Trumbull; sisters: Hazel Sterling and Janet Seibert; brother, Preston Sterling, Jr.; granddaughter, Summer Cole.
Kay retired from Budd Company after 44 years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #698. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, dice, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, cryptquotes, but her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, friends & family, and vacationing at Silver Lake, Michigan.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.
A private graveside service will be held in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township.
