It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Kris M. Hanneman, Waterville, formerly of Bowling Green. Kris passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio on August 30, 2026, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 30, 1950, to the late Karl and Mercene Hanneman in Bowling Green. He was a 1968 graduate of Bowling Green High School and graduated from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science where he earned his degree in Funeral Directing and Embalming. On December 20, 1969, he married Donna Pfouts and she survives in Waterville. He is also survived by his daughter Michelle, of Bowling Green, his son, Reggie, of Bowling Green and 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Keegan (Emily) O’Brien of Kansas City, MO. Kaleb (Peyton) O’Brien of Glendale, AZ, Cooper Feehan, of Bowling Green and Lily Hanneman of Bowling Green. Also surviving are his siblings, Karla Hanneman-Hines, of Beverly Hills, FL, Kyle Hanneman, of Bowling Green, Kathy (Scott) Hanneman-Murray of Bowling Green and Kraig (Kay) Hanneman, of Sandusky and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Andrew Hines.
Kris was president of Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home in Bowling Green for many years and retired after a long and rewarding career serving the families in Bowling Green and the surrounding communities. He was also the past Worshipful Master of the Wood County Masonic Lodge #112, past board member of Bowling Green Youth Hockey Association, member of the BG Blueliners and a past member of the Rotary and Elks Club.
Kris was an avid supporter of his children and grandchildren, attending all their school and sporting events, his family was his first priority. Kris loved to travel. He and Donna rode Harley Davidson Motorcycles in all the lower 48 states, logging well over 500,000 miles! They also traveled to Mexico numerous times. Kris was a diehard Miami Hurricane fan, and he loved to watch college football. He also liked attending Classic Rock and ‘60s Groups concerts.
Per Kris’ wishes his services will be private. Memorial contributions can be made out to The American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
