Mae E Bechstein

Mae E. Bechstein, 101, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away May 18, 2026. She was born October 21, 1924 in Deshler, Ohio to the late Lonnie and Lottie (Herr) Hefflinger. She married George Bechstein February 11, 1945 and he preceded her in death.

Mae was a graduate of Milton High School. She was a member of South Liberty United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Bowling Green. She worked in Food Service at BGSU retiring in 1985.

Mae enjoyed working on puzzles and crafts. She and George spent over 15 years living in Cherokee Village, Arkansas and also enjoyed traveling to George’s 380th Bomber Group reunions.

She is survived by her children Cassandra Stacklin (Mike), Eugene Bechstein, Bradley Bechstein (Doris), Jeffery Bechstein and Philip Bechstein (Kim) as well as her sister Coann (Clyde) Ducat, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, siblings Harold Hefflinger, Leroy Hefflinger, and Iona Hall, grandson Andrew Bechstein, and daughters-in-law Maria Bechstein and Sharon Bechstein.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 21, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St. Her funeral service will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
