Maggie, the puppy who is no couch potato, is waiting at dog shelter to be adopted

Meet Maggie, the 10-12-month-old pittie who came to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray. She is no couch potato and is looking for an active home to keep up with her energetic lifestyle.

“She would love to go for a run in the park or a long stroll around the neighborhood,” Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding said.

Maggie can be picky about her dog friends, so an introduction to other dogs in the household prior to adoption is a must.

“She has done fantastic with every person she has met at the shelter,” Harding said. “She is still a puppy and will need help learning basic manners, and would benefit from crate training while her owners are at work,” Harding said.

Maggie is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
