Marlene E. Rose, 90, of Cygnet, died at 10:29 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore. She was born on October 8, 1935, to the late Francis and Mary (Arnold) Slee. She married Donald J. Rose on July 11, 1955, and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2002.
Marlene and Don had three sons: Michael (Sally of Cygnet) Rose-deceased, Steven (Sue) Rose of North Baltimore and Don (Kim) Rose of Bowling Green; sister, Mary Fraley of Pemberville; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her her brother, Patrick Slee; and sister, Cheryl Cremean.
Marlene retired from the custodial department at Bowling Green State University, and Elmwood Schools, where she was a bus driver and cook. She had been a member of the Eastern Star and Red Hat Society.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Portage Cemetery. Pastor Jeremy Robinson officiating.
