Mary Dawson’s Lotus Peony flower painting received the Art Depo People’s Choice Award at the well-attended opening reception of the Better than Ever exhibit at the Wood County Senior Center Friday.
The exhibit, sponsored by the BG Arts Council and the Wood County Committee on Aging, features 65 works in a wide variety of 2-D and 3-D media by 31 area artists ages 50 and up.
The show is open through Feb. 28 at the center at 140 S. Grove Street, BG. Center hours are Monday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and many of the works are for sale.
The reception featured music by The Root Cellar String Band and food from Chef Paul’s kitchen.
