The Maumee Uptown Business Association will present the Maumee Summer Fair Friday Aug. 12 and Saturday, Aug. 13 in Uptown Maumee.
Celebrating its 44th year, the festival begins Friday at 5 p.m. with the Taste of Maumee. Featuring 11 Maumee restaurants, attendees can enjoy a variety of cuisine from pizza, Mexican food, wraps, ice cream, BBQ, wings, burgers, seafood and more.
Friday night will also feature a fun zone with plenty of games and inflatables for the young at heart, while the 21 and over crowd will enjoy the music and festivities inside the lot party. Featured acts are Down River Dan at 5 p.m. and Not Fast Enuff at 8:30 p.m.
New for 2022, will be a free family friendly outdoor movie on a 32-foot Elite Movie Screen.
On Saturday the marketplace opens at 9 a.m. Be sure to walk around and check out more than 130 artists, crafters and commercial booths lining the streets. The vendors will be open to 5p.m.
Other activities planned are a Classic Car Show hosted by the NW Ohio Street Machiners, The Right Direction Bike Demo Team performances at 1 and 3, a kid fun zone with inflatables, Romick Railway train ride Friday night and all-Day Saturday. The Performance Dogs of Ohio will perform at noon and 2.
Laurels Princess Parties will offer a meet and greet with Spiderman and The Snow Queen. Area mascots will be on hand including Freddie and Frieda Falcon from BGSU, Rocky and Rocksy from UT, Lourdes Grey Wolves Gubi as well as the Toledo Mud Hens Muddy and the Toledo Walleye’s Spike.
On Saturday, the Taste of Maumee will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. to provide all the food you could want.
Music starts with the Maumee Community Band at 10:30 a.m.
Acts performing in a variety of styles will be on the Maumee Palooza Stage.
The Summer Fair Lot Party will transition to a 21 and over crowd inside the fenced beer area from 5 p.m. to midnight featuring Noisy Neighbors at 5:15 p.m. and Reaganonomics at 8:30.
