From NORTHWESTERN WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT
The Northwestern Water and Sewer District has announced that approximately 200 customers in Moline in Lake Township will not have water service on March 31, due to waterline construction ongoing in the area.
On Tuesday, March 31, from 8 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m., water service will be shut off for residents of Moline. Following the water service shut off, as a precaution, residents in this area will be required to boil their water until Thursday, April 2, at 4 p.m., unless otherwise notified. Impacted residents will be notified via phone.
What to do if a boil water advisory is issued:
- Do not consume water without boiling it first.
- Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.
- Bring water to a vigorous, rolling boil, then boil for two minutes. Don’t forget to cool the water before consuming it.
- Instead of boiling, people may purchase bottled water or obtain water from other suitable sources.
