A panel discussion will be held Oct. 27 to explore ways to reduce gun violence.
Believing that we all need to be part of the solutions for everyone’s safety, a group of advocates – Advocates to End Gun Violence- will host a panel discussion for the community. The event will be educational in purpose and format to explore ideas and ways to reduce gun violence and work for a safer society.
The event will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the atrium at Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
The panel members are:
- Toby Hoover, founder of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence
- Amjad Hussein, MD, US-based Pakistani cardiothoracic surgeon, inventor, writer, photographer, explorer, columnist and community leader.
- Prof. Joe Jacoby, Emeritus, sociology and criminology, BGSU.
- Michael Temple, NRA firearms instructor
- Prof. Amy Thompson, professor of public health at UT. Her primary research area is firearm violence prevention
There is no charge and the public is invited to attend.
