Patricia A McGrain

Patricia A McGrain, 94, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026. She was born on June 5, 1932, to the late Arthur and Amanda [McMullen] McGrain. Youngest of eleven children she was born in North Baltimore, Ohio and raised in Bloomdale, Ohio.

She graduated from Bowling Green State University moved to Michigan and was an English teacher and later worked in Real Estate. She also taught physical fitness and swimming to hundreds of children. She acted, danced and sang in many plays and musicals. After many years of being a snowbird she permanently moved to Pompano Beach Florida in 1988. In 2019 she moved to St. Petersburg Florida to be close to her daughter.

Born into a large Irish family, she carried her heritage proudly, embraced its humor, storytelling, and deep sense of togetherness. Patti lived her life with a spirit that was unmistakably her own-vibrant, expressive and full of heart. She loved to travel, and every trip became a story she carried home, told with her signature sparkle. She approached every journey with curiosity and joy, finding meaning in new places and delight in the people she met along the way. She truly loved all people. Patti had a flair for theatre and drama that made her unforgettable. She was one of a kind and her love of life was truly boundless.

She is preceded by her brothers, Arthur, Leo, Clair and Cloyd and James McGrain and her sisters Calista McGrain Robinson, Madelon McGrain Quinn, Dorothea McGrain Hall, Anna McGrain Kern, Marguerite McGrain Distel. Patti is lovingly remembered by her two children. Her son Mark Puchalla and wife Nancy of Olive Branch Mississippi and daughter and caregiver Renee Puchalla and husband Yves of St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as granddaughters Amanda , Ashley and Maddy and great-granddaughter Adeline. Along with many loved nieces, nephews and their families.

In her honor these events will be held on Thursday October 8, 2026. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Rosary at 10:45 a.m. and Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Father Tom McQuillen will officiate. Interment will follow at 1:00pm with bagpipes at Weaver Cemetery in North Baltimore Ohio. Her Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Chateau Winery & Vineyard, 525 OH-635, Helena, OH 43435. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
