From PAXTON/SPANGLER BAND
On Saturday, May 23, from 7 – 10 p.m., the Paxton/Spangler Band with Brad Billmaier on drums will play at Arlyn’s Good Beer, 520 Hankey Ave., Bowling Green. There is no cover charge.
The Paxton/Spangler band performs a lively, upbeat mix of music, featuring two veterans and three up-and-coming young musicians. The band plays jazz, swing, crooner material, soul tunes, and funky New Orleans music. Members play songs by Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael, Leonard Cohen, Hank Williams, Earl King, Danny Barker, Duke Ellington, Roy Ayers, Leon Russell, Jimmy Cliff, Nat King Cole, and Louis Jordan.
Over the years, “Tbone” and “RJ” have performed together and separately in New Orleans. They have three nationally released CDs that have garnered airplay in the states and abroad.
