The Friends of BG Dog Parks is offering people and their pets a chance to have their photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus to support the construction of the Ridge Street Dog Park.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will welcome humans of all ages with pets or without at Round and Round Gifts, 331 N. Main St., in Bowling Green, on Saturday Dec. 7, 1-4 p.m. For a $20 suggested donation to Friends of BG Dog Parks, people or pets sitting for a photo will take home a 4-by-6 photo and a link to a digital download.

Professional photographer Alek Rodkin is volunteering his time and talent for the fundraiser. Click to see examples of Rodkin’s work. Photos will be taken with a choice of background. Donating their time to portray Santa and Mrs. Claus will be familiar faces Charlie and Peggy Downard who have donned their festive red attire for many area events in past years.

Friends of BG Dog Park, a nonprofit organization, signed a lease with the City of Bowling Green for the space at Ridge Park in July. The group anticipates that construction of the dog park will begin in the spring.

Dogs and their people who are interested in receiving updates may visit www.bgdogparks.org to sign up for the group’s email list.
